The man who appeared as a naked baby on the cover of Nirvana's best-selling Nevermind album is suing the band.
Spencer Elden, now 30, claims the image is exploitative and was used without correct permission being granted by his parents.
He was four months old when the photograph was taken and has since recreated the image for photoshoots several times but always wearing swimming shorts.
According to Variety, Elden's lawyer claims the image constitutes child pornography and the dollar bill on a hook superimposed in front of the infant makes Elden appear in the role of a sex worker.
The website said Elden was seeking more than $1 million in damages from defendants linked to the image's publication, including surviving members of the band.
Nevermind, released in 1991, sold more than 30 million copies and propelled Nirvana to the pinnacle of international celebrity.
