- Germany are showing signs of resurgence. After losing to France in the opening round, Die Mannschaft were looking at the prospect of falling at the group stage for a second successive major tournament. But a fairly convincing win against Portugal might save them - and the job of manager Joachim Low.

- Fighting talk from the Wales camp today, before they play Italy in Rome on Sunday evening. "It would be a great result if we could win. Our aim is to win the game - none of us ever go into a match to get a draw," declared captain (and national hero) Gareth Bale. Wales only need a draw to qualify; and Italy are guaranteed a place in the next round whatever the result.

- Finland's captain Tim Sparv has given an interview to The Observer about the team's thoughts and reactions when Denmark's Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field. "We were just in shock, disbelief, we didn't know what was going on," he said. Sparv said the Finns were like everyone in the stadium at the time, and "feared the worst" when they realised the medical team was performing CPR. "I spoke to [Denmark's] Kasper Schmeichel quite early on about the whole thing. It was a good dialogue, good communication - the referee [Anthony] Taylor, he dealt with it very well," he added.

SUNDAY'S FIXTURES:

Italy vs Wales               Rome, 16:00 GMT

Switzerland vs Turkey  Baku, 16:00 GMT

SATURDAY'S RESULTS:

Hungary 1-1 France

The performance of the day came in Budapest, where Hungary clung on to a draw with world champions France. The central Europeans were buoyed by their home supporters in the Puskas Arena, and while the game might not have been quite as exciting as the legendary striker the stadium is named for, the Magyars won't mind.

Portugal 2-4 Germany

Portugal scored two own-goals to hand Germany a 4-2 win in Munich. It's the highest scoring game of the tournament so far, and gives Germany a life-line after losing to France.

Spain 1-1 Poland

In Seville, Spain were held to a draw by Poland - thanks to a headed goal from the Polish talisman Robert Lewandowski. Spain had enough chances to win it, but were denied by poor finishes from Torres and Morata, plus a decent performance by Poland's goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
