ACROSS EUROPE

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will address the nation at 1800GMT on Sunday, setting out the next steps in its fight against the coronavirus. The measures announced will mostly apply to England, as Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are adopting specific approaches.
People across the UK will be watching though, especially to see how lockdown measures will be eased. The current restrictions have been in place since 23 March and there's evidence that people are flouting the rules.
Business will be another area to watch, as the economy has largely shut down. Parents and students will be looking for any guidance on when schools will reopen.
Although Downing Street is keeping its cards close to its chest, the prime minister is expected to announce a new national alert system for COVID-19, with the slogan "Stay Alert, Control the Virus, Save Lives." That's different from the current one: "Stay Home, Protect the NHS [National Health Service], Save Lives." A sign perhaps that Britain is learning to live with the virus.

Germany's reproduction rate has risen above one, according to the country's center for disease control, The Robert Koch Institute.
This means that one infected person infects an average of 1.1 people, suggesting the previous negative trend has gone into reverse.
More than 1,250 new cases of the virus were confirmed on Saturday, bringing the total number in the country to 168,551.
Meanwhile, more protests took place in cities across Germany against the government imposed restrictions on public life.
In most places, protesters defied the 1.5 meter social distancing rules, holding signs with slogans such as "freedom" and "resistance."
More robust easing of coronavirus restrictions are expected on Monday with the reopening of many more schools.
