The exhibition featured ten Thangka paintings, part of a larger collection of 79 roll paintings. These works illustrate a classic book of traditional Tibetan medicine, designed to aid students in monasteries in learning medical knowledge.

Thangkas, known as the "Art of Enlightenment," are sacred pieces of art rich in symbolism, painted using ground mineral pigment on cotton or silk. They serve as important tools for meditation and visualization, revered within Tibetan Buddhist traditions.

Traditional Tibetan medicine, or Sowa Rigpa, meaning "Science of Healing," has been practiced for over 3,000 years. This ancient medical system is built on the principles that balance leads to health and imbalance leads to disease.

The displayed Thangkas are fundamental pieces of educational art, intertwining practical medical knowledge with Buddhist traditions.

They not only illustrate the rich heritage of Tibetan medicine but also highlight the enduring cultural and educational significance of these ancient practices.
