Flash floods have killed at least 14 people living in tents and container housing across Turkiye's southeastern Sanliurfa and Adiyaman provinces, just over a month after both areas were hit by a devastating earthquake.
Heavy rain in the provinces caused several more people to be swept away, with roads being turned into muddy rivers.

More than 100 millimeters of rain fell in 24 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, with images showing the waters sweeping away cars and flooding temporary housing set up for earthquake victims.

Other footage showed people pulling victims out of the water with branches and rope.
Turkish officials said more of the deaths occured in Sanliurfa, about 50 kilometers north of the Syrian border.

Meanwhile, at least two people, including a one-year-old child, also died in Adiyaman.
More than 48,000 people died in Turkiye and nearly 6,000 in Syria in the February 6 earthquake, which also left many people homeless.
Thousands of people were staying in tents and container houses, some of which were flooded due to severe rain, after their homes were damaged by the earthquakes.
