International Women's Day praises efforts to end gender discrimination and actions that boost an equitable and inclusive world.

The annual celebration for women was held throughout China with a variety of activities.

Chinese president Xi Jinping expressed his support for Chinese women to pursue their dreams.

 

Half a century for Spain and China

China and Spain are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. 

The two countries have maintained incredible cooperation across many fields throughout this period, such as trade and investment.

To mark the grand occasion, a China to Europe freight train left Yiwu in east China for Madrid.

Two Sessions begins in style

It's the biggest annual event on China's political calendar and got under way in Beijing with much fanfare.

It has attracted much attention from the international community with the promotion of high-quality development across many sectors topping the agenda.

 

Advanced machinery revolutionizing Chinese farming

Agricultural mechanics are in full-flight with drones helping to fertilize the wheat fields across the vast land of Dezhou City in east China's Shandong Province. 

Combined with a navigation satellite system, the machinery can now operate automatically with a precision of two centimeters.

China plans Tianwen-2 mission for asteroid sampling

A new interplanetary mission has been announced by China's space agency.

The scheduled Tianwen-2 project will involve studying an asteroid called 2016 HO3 return to Earth and then head out again to a main-belt comet 311P. 

 

World's first for a Canadian LNG plant

The last two modules out of 35 have been completed and transported by a huge ship in Qingdao City, in east China's Shandong Province.

Built by the Offshore Oil Engineering company under the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, the project is the world's first integrated construction liquefied natural gas (LNG) modular plant to be delivered.

With an annual output of 14 million tonnes of LNG, the project is expected to supply high-quality clean energy to countries including China when operational.
