One person has died in a cable car accident at one of the highest peaks in Czechia's Sudetes mountain range, after a cabin became detached from the line.
The cable line, which climbs the 1,000-meter-high Jested mountain, was carrying two cars, each one operated by a separate member of staff.
A rescue service spokesperson said several people were evacuated from the second one, but the driver of the other cabin was killed when it fell while traveling down the mountain.

"There was one person inside, who unfortunately succumbed to their injuries," spokesman Michael Georgiev told Czech Television.
"Fortunately, the other cabin stayed in its normal place, some 15 people were evacuated, they should be without injuries, just suffering mental shock," he said.

Czech Railways, the owner, later released a statement expressing its regret over the accident and offering "its deepest condolences to the bereaved."
It went on to thank the emergency rescue teams, adding the cause of the incident would "be investigated on the spot."

Governor of the Liberec Region, Martin Puta, also expressed his condolences, adding that the passengers from the second cabin were safe.
"I expect a quick investigation into the causes of the accident," he added, while Czech police announced that criminal proceedings were being launched for the offence of general negligence.
According to local media, a cableway shutdown had been planned from Monday for maintenance, but was set be in full operation again on 13 November.
The popular tourist attraction carried over 200,000 people to the peak of Jested mountain last year, and 2019 its electrical equipment was reportedly repaired in connection with its security equipment.
