What do you get if you cross a Chinese ox with a Scottish Highland cow?
With a little imagination added, it might look something like this:

The artwork, created by London-based Ian Kirkpatrick, was unveiled on China's "I love you day," named for May 20 which sounds similar to the phrase in Chinese.
It also marks the Year of the Ox.
"I was delighted to work on this project and took my inspiration from a quote by Carl Sagan that promotes the idea of friendship between nations. As a result, much of the iconography is space-related, including images of [China's lunar mission] Chang'e 5," Kirkpatrick said.
The creation of the work was supported by the Scottish Confucius Institute for Business & Communication at Heriot-Watt University.
