Despite official celebrations being postponed to November, thousands of people joined a march in Paris on Saturday 5 July to celebrate gay pride and protest against police brutality and racial discrimination.

On the same day, activists took the streets of Madrid to protest against discrimination of transgender people. According to Spain's Lesbian, Gay, Trans and Bisexual Federation (FELGTB), around 70 percent of transgender people have suffered discrimination when using the national health care system. Protesters asked that the government officially legislate against transgender discrimination.
