The number of new cases of the novel coronavirus – now named Covid-19 – are flattening out in China, but global fears are still high.

In the UK, eight people have tested positive for the virus so far. One man linked to 11 coronavirus cases has spoken for the first time, saying he had "fully recovered" from the illness.

But authorities are continuing to check other people he may have been in contact with.

In Japan, more than 3,700 passengers and crew on the Diamond Princess cruise ship have been confined to their quarters aboard vessel moored off Yokohama since Monday night. Another 65 passengers tested positive this week, bringing the total infected on the ship to 135.
