China’s national agricultural exhibition group is showcasing the country’s quality agricultural and food products at SIAL Paris 2026, one of the world’s leading food industry trade fairs, as Chinese companies seek to expand their presence in European markets.
The exhibition opened on October 17 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in France. Organized by the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese delegation brings together food and agricultural businesses from provinces including Hebei, Jilin, Hubei, Jiangxi, Henan, Guangdong and Shaanxi.
Under the theme “CHINA AGRI,” the national pavilion features a diverse range of products, including fruits and vegetables, condiments, nuts and snack foods. Through product displays, informational materials and promotional videos, the exhibition aims to introduce international buyers to the diversity and quality of China’s agricultural and food products.
During the fair, the Chinese delegation also held discussions with Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of the Food and Beverage Division of French exhibition organizer Comexposium, and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on improving support for China’s participation in the exhibition, expanding two-way trade in agricultural and food products, and strengthening cooperation between trade fairs in China and overseas.
Participating Chinese companies also held business meetings with French food and agricultural companies, professional buyers and industry organizations, aiming to establish business connections and developing more overseas sales channels.
Peng Tingjun, director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, said France was an important European market for Chinese agricultural exports, adding that China-France agricultural trade ranked first among China’s agricultural trade with EU member states.
He said SIAL Paris provided an important platform for Chinese agricultural and food products to enter European markets, expressing hope that the event would promote the two-way flow of quality products and deepen mutually beneficial agricultural and trade cooperation between China and France.
According to the organizers, the five-day exhibition brings together nearly 8,000 exhibitors from 130 countries and regions worldwide.
First held in 1964, SIAL Paris takes place every two years and is one of the world’s leading international trade fairs for the food industry.
