Against the backdrop of conflict in Iran, rising energy prices and trade tensions, BRICS leaders are gathering in New Delhi for their annual summit.
One of the key issues on the table is how to make payments and trade between BRICS countries easier, including greater use of national currencies and closer links between their payment systems.
But how far can that cooperation really go? And what could it mean for the global economy, and for the future role of the U.S. dollar?
On this edition of The Agenda, Juliet Mann is joined by Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr., Founding Vice President of the New Development Bank; Sanusha Naidu, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Dialogue; former BRICS Sherpa Professor Sanjay Bhattacharyya; and Professor Shen Yi, Director of the Center for BRICS Studies at Fudan University.
