Iran broadcasts $10 million bounty on Donald Trump's youngest son

Iranian state media has broadcast footage placing a $10 million bounty on US president Donald Trump's son, with the show's title "Where and how should we kill Barron Trump?"

The three-minute segment was released by IRGC-affiliated media on Monday, and alleged that his movements were "fully monitored", including the location of his university, escort vehicles and Secret Service posts.

The report also alleged that a girl had been able to "make contact" with Barron Trump, subverting Secret Service protections to conduct a private meeting with the 20-year-old, and subsequently passing on private meeting information.

The legitimacy of details are as of yet unconfirmed, and no statement has been made from Barron Trump or the Trump administration.

However the US Secret Service issued a statement to US media, asserting that the service was "aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees.”

Barron Trump is the youngest child of US President Donald Trump, and started his university education at New York University's Stern School of Business in September 2024.

While the video is the first explicit threat made against Barron Trump by a state, it is not the first time Iran has issued explicit threats to Trump's immediate family. In July, a video released by Tasnim News Agency included messages of 'how to kill Melania Trump', Donald Trump's wife and the First Lady of America.

US threatens fresh wave of sanctions against Iran's allies, Iran vows retaliation

Iran says it will fight back against expanded US sanctions targeting allies, as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unveiled new isolatory measures on Monday.

Labeling the measures an "economic onslaught", Bessant announced that 60 corporations, individuals and vessels would be sanctioned, for enabling the Iranian regime's "recklessness."

Included in this list are Iranian military officials and weapons procurement rings, shippers and brokers moving fuel via countries like China and the UAE. Multiple China-based individuals are also being sanctioned, but Chinese banks and financial institutions remain unmentioned.

China, which has been the biggest buyer of Iranian oil in recent years, ​said on Tuesday that its cooperation with Iran is conducted within the framework of international law and should not be interfered with or disrupted.

Experts say Washington is ​wary of Chinese retaliation for any sanctions on its banks ahead of expected talks next month between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Bessant also stopped short at revealing the most punishing sanctions, and declined to give a timeline or identify which countries may be targeted, instead insisting that relevant parties would be given time to comply with new directives.

"Why would I want to blow up the global financial system?" he said when asked why the ​measures had not gone further.

In response to Bessant's measures, Iranian Economy Minister Ali Madanizadeh has said that Tehran was "fully prepared", which would result in "another defeat" for the US.
