The Agenda: Europe wasn't built for this heat — what breaks first?

The Agenda

Europe's latest heatwave is more than another spell of extreme weather — it's testing the world's climate ambitions.

As temperatures break records across the continent, do we have to recognise that we have lost the battle against climate change? And what do governments, and indeed the people of Europe, need to do right now to adapt to a hotter future? And at what cost?

Joining Juliet Mann on this edition of The Agenda are Dr Samantha Burgess, Deputy Director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service; Nick Mabey, Co-CEO of the independent climate think tank E3G; and Swenja Surminski, Professor in Practice at the LSE and Managing Director for Climate and Sustainability at global risk and insurance advisory firm Marsh.
