Sanchez in China - Spain on the global stage

CGTN

29:09

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is now back in Madrid after his fourth visit to China in as many years. He met President Xi Jinping, where the two talked trade, cooperation and the importance of multipolarity.

He arrived in Beijing against a backdrop of unprecedented global tension, and as the most outspoken European leader against the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, and while in China he spoke out against the possibility of a "new cold war" as President Xi warned of a "crumbling" global order.

So what does this latest visit tell us about Spain's economic and political future?

Joining Juliet Mann on this edition of The Agenda are Alicia Garcia Herrero, Chief economist for Asia-Pacific at Natixis, Manuel Balmaseda, Director of the Instituto Espanol de Banca y Finanza and Professor of Economics at CUNEF Universidad and Spain's former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ana Palacio.
