Hundreds of people joined an early healthy party at one of Madrid's biggest dance clubs.
Dressed in leggings, shorts and running-shoes, 700 enthusiastic people gathered at 11am on Saturday to exercise, party and meet new people at Fitz. It is a busy club which usually operates at night in the Spanish capital city's center.
Embracing a growing trend of post-morning-run, alcohol‑free, wellness‑focused partying, healthy food was provided to the participants.
The 'party' included group Barre exercises and running sessions outside the venue, while DJs played music which kept the crowds dancing as if it were a night party.
One participant said the event allows people to get the best of both worlds, mixing exercising with partying, while another said it helps them feel good about themselves because they don't have a hangover the day after.
"I can combine a healthy life and my training with connecting with people who have similar hobbies as me. To eat healthily and as they say, to have some real dopamine," said party assistant Alejandro Marcano.
The party was organized by Revel Club, a social sports group which organizes running sessions, followed by get-togethers in restaurants or clubs for participants to socialize and meet new people.
"There's an entire generation which is changing their consumer habits and I'm sure Madrid will change from being the capital of nightlife to the capital of daytime leisure," said Rafa Aguayo, Founder of Revel Group.
"Not Miami, nor Los Angeles or New York - Madrid! It's absolute madness to practically fill up the best nightclub in Madrid, on a Saturday at 11am with more than 700 people. Changing alcohol and drugs for real dopamine experiences," he added.
