An island, home to fewer than 60,000 people, 80 percent of which is covered in ice, has now become the very centre of the latest geopolitical struggle – Greenland.
The White House has said "a range of options" are being explored to "acquire" the Danish territory, including the use of force.
European leaders have condemned that approach, but is the Trump White House taking any notice? And just how is this all likely to play out?
