"Everyone is excited for this match. It's a chance to show ourselves before next year's Asian Cup and reflects our improving level. We're all excited to show everyone here in England who we are."

This will be the sixth meeting between China and England. The teams have won two matches a piece, drawing one, although England won their most recent meeting at the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

Ante Milicic, a former Australia player, has been China's head coach since 2024. The team have lost just one of their last six games, winning three.

"It's a different experience for our girls, its one they are going to have to adapt to and quickly… when the game starts but I can assure you they are really looking forward to it and excited," he told CGTN Europe.

"I just hope they can put on a good performance."

In March, China will have the chance to defend their Asian Cup title. The tournament is being played in Australia.

"We are defending the title, and that's the only aim we're focused on", says Zhang Linyan.

"We'll keep working hard on the path to becoming Asian champions again."

For now focus is on the match against England. This game has been called the homecoming match as it will be England's first at Wembley since they won Euro 2025. China will be hoping that they can disrupt the party in front of a sell-out crowd.

"We want to show everything we've trained for during this period and put all our tactical work into practice," says Tang Jiali. "And of course, everyone will give 100 percent to deliver our best."
