Critical minerals have become one of the key geopolitical flashpoints of the modern world. Rare earth materials are vital in the manufacture of everything from electric vehicles to fighter jets, wind turbines to drones.
One of the key issues discussed at the recent China-U.S. meeting in London was the role of critical minerals in world trade. So what's really at issue here? What's generating demand, and how can the world ensure a plentiful supply?
