RAZOR: How algae can capture CO2 from the atmosphere and fight climate change

We're living in a climate emergency. With the effects of the changing climate experienced worldwide, it's now widely recognized that we need to not only reduce emissions but actively remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere - permanently. 

Stephen Millburn, a physicist by training and entrepreneur by trade, is the founder of Nellie Technologies. The company uses the growth of micro-algae to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. The algae is grown in a specially designed photobioreactor, before being dried and turned into biochar through a process called pyrolysis. Biochar is a durable solid that locks away the carbon and can endure in soil for thousands of years.
