CGTN Europe's Bridge Builders and China Explained honored at W3 Awards

CGTN Europe collected four awards at an international prizegiving focused on creative digital projects.

The W3 Awards are run by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) which awarded CGTN Europe two Gold awards and two Silver awards.

The China Explained series uses graphics to explore trends in the world's second largest economy. /CGTN

The China Explained series, presented by Li Jianhua, was recognized in two categories - taking a Gold for best travel video series and a Silver for best social media travel series.

In its four episodes, the series explores China's love of the countryside and traditional fashion culture as well as coffee habits and technology trends.

The Gold for best video animation went to an exploration of Julian Assange's extradition battle with the U.S. which used Artificial-Intelligence aided design to create an engaging and impactful storytelling format.

Another winner was CGTN Europe's Bridge Builders project. That series highlighted the work of individuals from different fields who have broken down barriers to foster relationships between Europe and China. The episode on the Guo family, telling the story of how Guo Yi went from busking on London's streets to performing in Hollywood blockbusters, claimed a silver award for best editorial website experience.
