Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned Russia the conflict is "coming home" to Moscow, as his troops continue their week-long incursion into the cross border Kursk region.
In his nightly address, Ukraine's leader said "Russia brought the war to others ... Ukraine has always wanted peace and we will undoubtedly ensure peace."
Russia's foreign intelligence services have accused Zelenskyy of "insane" steps that threaten to escalate the violence further.
Intense fighting is continuing in Kursk, with Russian troops attacking Ukrainian forces with drones and missiles. Russia's defense ministry has published footage of Su-34 bombers striking at what it says are Ukrainian troops.
The Kremlin-backed leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has also posted material online reportedly showing Ukrainian fatalities.

Russian army chiefs report that Kyiv's offensive in Kursk has stalled, saying "the blitzkrieg planned… has not worked out." Russia's defense ministry says 12 Ukrainian drones have been shot down over the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, where Kyiv is looking to consolidate its recent gains.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have been stepping up attacks in eastern Ukraine in the wake of the Kursk offensive. Kyiv has reported the largest number of battles in a single day around the front line of fighting in Pokrovsk.
Ukraine is restricting the movement of civilians within a 20-kilometer buffer zone near its own border with Kursk. Kyiv is warning of an "increase in the intensity of hostilities" and the risk from Russian reconnaissance groups in the Sumy area.
