The China Cultural Center in Luxembourg hosted the first dialogue on "Global Opportunities in Deepening China's Reform in the New Era" on Monday to mark the conclusion of one of China's most important political events, the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing.

The event was co-organized by China Media Group Europe (CMG Europe) and the Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg, with support from the China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU, the China Cultural Center in Luxembourg, and EU Reporter.

Mr. Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and President of China Media Group, emphasizing the significance of the Third Plenary Session as a milestone for China's development in the new era during his video speech.

"In the face of today's intertwined world of chaos and change, and the opportunities and challenges presented by the new wave of technological and industrial revolutions, China has placed reform in a more prominent position. The pace of reform will not stop, and there will be no 'decoupling' or 'high walls'," Shen stated.

Shen Haixiong also emphasized that China Media Group will fulfill its responsibility as an international mainstream media organization, continuously produce high-quality content to showcase the Chinese modernization to the world.

He hoped for honest and profound exchanges, joint responsibility and the promotion of a shared future for humanity.

Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg Hua Ning reiterated the Third Plenary Session's emphasis on China's commitment to its fundamental national policy of opening up to the outside world.

Hua Ning said cooperation between China and Luxembourg in various fields has achieved significant progress and created multiple "firsts." Luxembourg was the first European country to join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and one of the first EU countries to sign a Belt and Road cooperation agreement with China.

He said China welcomes more European countries to invest in China and do business there.

Prominent figures who attended and delivered speeches included Jean-Marc Goy, Chairman of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) and Dick Roche, former Irish Minister for European Affairs and Environment.

Nearly 100 representatives from political and business sectors, think tanks, media, and university students from China and Europe participated in the dialogue.
