China's Hainan Province held a promotion event in Frankfurt, Germany on Wednesday, introducing the Hainan Free Trade Port and investment opportunities in the hope of enhancing ties with European companies.
The event was attended by over 500 representatives of companies or industry associations from 12 European countries. A delegation from Hainan Province introduced the development and advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port, focusing especially on the opening-up policies, low-carbon and green development and the legal construction.

The German companies have conducted in-depth communication and consultant on the clean energy, education, high-end consumption and medical and health industries.
The construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port started in 2018. Based on rules of "zero tariff, low tax rates and simplified taxation system", the policies within the southern Chinese island will be quite different from the mainland. It is expected that with the supporting policies and facilities, Hainan the largest special economic zone, will be forged into a pioneering area for comprehensive reform and opening-up.

Before the end of 2025, Hainan Free Trade Port will start island-wide closure operation. Hainan Free Trade Port then will become a duty-free area, greatly boosting the development of tourism, retail, logistics and processing and manufacturing industries.
