In an exclusive interview with CGTN Europe, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kallenius says the future is full of hydrogen... and China.

"It's very clear that for passenger cars, the main road is battery electric vehicles on that path towards zero emission," he tells CGTN's Peter Oliver. "But hydrogen will play a role in the general energy transformation."

Kallenius also outlines the importance of China market to car manufacturers with some very simple maths about motoring markets.

"China alone if almost as big as if you put Europe and the United States together," he explains. "So it's not a surprise that at the upper end, China will have a dominant position."
