Archaeological breakthroughs discovered at Liangzhu ruins 

New archaeological discoveries at the ruins of Liangzhu ancient city and its wider water conservancy system were unveiled at a news conference held by the National Cultural Heritage Administration in Beijing on Wednesday. 

The recent findings have provided a preliminary understanding of the three development phases of the Liangzhu ruins starting from scattered settlements, to the construction of a water conservancy system, and eventually the erection of the ancient city.



Cutting edge agricultural equipment 

State-of-the-art agricultural equipment and machines are being showcased at the ongoing China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing. Green agricultural supplies, smart agricultural machines, farm product processing and other products covering the entire industrial chain in the agricultural sector are on display.

Sichuan-Qinghai railway bypasses pandas

A 238-kilometer section of the Sichuan-Qinghai railway in western China became operational on Tuesday after 12 years of construction. The railway crosses the rugged, earthquake-prone plateau region in southwest China's Sichuan Province, and takes a detour to avoid disturbing nature reserves. 

The railway's strategic stopover stations, interspersed across varied ecological environments, showcase distinctive design features. The Zhenjiangguan Railway Station, adorned with a 30-meter-high bridge, exemplifies innovative design aimed at minimizing environmental impact.

 

China releases first image of new space station

The China Manned Space Agency released a high-definition panoramic image of its space station combination in Hong Kong on Tuesday. The photo was shot by the Shenzhou-16 crew before they returned to the Earth on Oct 30. 

This is the first photo showing the entire configuration of the space station in orbit with Earth visible in the background.

Football icons inspire fan excitement

Nearly 40 iconic football players from 13 countries gathered at the Wuhan Sports Center stadium on Saturday night for a one-of-a-kind game. The event drew football fans from all corners of China to watch the former greats in action.

Some of the football icons who featured in the game included former Brazil international Kaka, ex-Real Madrid and Portugal star Luis Figo and Alessandro Del Piero, who is widely regarded as one of Italy's greatest players of all-time.

 

Are foldable phones the future?

Foldable phones are the future for smartphones and offer a flexible solution to meet the changing demands of users, according to George Zhao Ming, CEO of leading Chinese phone brand Honor. 

In a recent interview with CGTN in south China's tech hub Shenzhen, Zhao outlined his expectations for the fast-changing industry and is confident Honor is well placed in the highly competitive Chinese market, where there are over a billion phone users.
