Research team reaches Mount Cho Oyu summit
A Chinese expedition team comprising 18 members has reached the summit of Mount Cho Oyu to carry out scientific research. It's the world's sixth-highest peak with an altitude of 8,201 meters and is located on the China-Nepal border.
First deep-water stratigraphic structure mapped out
China has completed its first deep-water stratigraphic structure map through using technology to explore seabed geology up to 3,500 meters deep. The six-meter-long map shows the rock structure of the seabed with lines in various colors indicating river course and geological depressions.

Moon rover sends back photos for festival
China's lunar rover Yutu-2 has sent back photos from the moon 380,000 kilometers away to help celebrate China's Mid-Autumn Festival. Engineers pieced the images together to create a panorama shot of the Yutu-2's surroundings.

New remote sensing satellite launched
A remote sensing satellite has been launched into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The Long March-2D carrier rocket carrying the satellite Yaogan-39 is the 490th mission undertaken by the Long March rocket series.
Joint drone show for China's National Day
Over 24,000 drones have lit up the skies of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province and China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It was all thanks to joint drone shows celebrating the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
