China is "gravely concerned" over what it deemed to be anti-Chinese measures outlined by the Group of Seven (G7) leaders at the group's Japan summit this week, China's embassy in the UK has said.

Leaders of some of the world's richest nations announced on Friday from Hiroshima their plans to "reduce excessive dependencies" on China in critical supply chains and counter so-called "malign practices" in technology.

The G7 leaders' communique also said it would to reaffirm the G7 leaders' commitment to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, while taking aim at a host of other China's internal affairs, including policy in Hong Kong and the South China Sea.

The leaders said its planned measures were "not designed to harm China", nor "thwart China's economic progress."

However, in response, Beijing's embassy spokesperson in London said the G7 was already meddling in Chinese affairs and that certain nations were "suppressing Chinese companies in violation of the principles of market economy," - a fact China "deplores and firmly rejects."

"In recent years, in disregard of facts, the G7 has grossly interfered in China's internal affairs on issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Tibet," the embassy said.

"It has sought to sow discord between regional countries and create camp confrontation on issues related to the East China Sea and South China Sea," it added.

"The greatest threat to peace" across the Taiwan Strait, it said, was now "Taiwan independence activities and foreign forces' connivance at and support for them."

"To truly safeguard cross-Strait peace, it is critical to unequivocally oppose and stop any act of 'Taiwan independence'," it added.

The embassy also called on Western nations to "refrain from using the G7 summit and other occasions to support and embolden the 'Taiwan independence' secessionist forces."

On G7 accusations about Chinese "economic coercion", the embassy said "no one is more qualified than the U.S. to be called out for it."

"The U.S. has been overstretching the concept of national security, abusing export control and taking discriminatory and unfair measures against foreign companies," it added, stressing that China was "a victim of U.S. economic coercion."

"We urge the G7 to discard the Cold War mentality and ideological prejudice, stop grossly interfering in other countries' internal affairs, stop the practice of forming small circles for bloc confrontation, and stop deliberately creating antagonism and division in the international community," it concluded.

China's foreign ministry echoed the comments from its London embassy on Saturday, stating that Beijing firmly opposed the G7 joint statement and had complained to summit organizer, Japan.
