Ukraine claims to shoot down hypersonic weapons

Russia has unleashed what has been described as an air strike of "exceptional" intensity on Kyiv in the early hours of Tuesday. Three people are reported wounded after being hit by falling debris.

Ukraine's first lady has said she is hopeful of securing supplies of non-lethal military equipment such as mine detectors from South Korea, on her trip to the country. Ahead of a meeting with President Yoon Suk Yeol, Olena Zelenska added that a visit by Yoon to Ukraine would be "very supportive." When asked if Kyiv has a plan to invite Yoon and the first lady, she said "Ukraine is always waiting for its friends."

The Kremlin says it is "considering the relevant decisions from a military point of view" after the UK confirmed further arms supplies to Ukraine. On Monday Prime Minister Rishi Sunak pledged to send more long range attack drones to Kyiv to Zelenskyy who was visiting the UK. Moscow says an "adequate military response" will follow.
