Rare 'peach blossom' jellyfish spotted
A rare type of freshwater jellyfish, an umbrella-shaped translucent creature, has been spotted at Puzhehei Karst National Wetland Park in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
After a few days of continuous observation, local researchers confirmed that it is the 'peach blossom' jellyfish.
Nicknamed the 'water panda,' the jellyfish is believed to have existed for more than 500 million years. Researchers say the species is very sensitive to environmental quality and only inhabits clean waters.
Breathtaking aurora views seen in Mohe
There were spectacular views of the polar lights as dazzling red beams lit up the sky in the northernmost city of Mohe in Heilongjiang.
Due to solar activity, residents in areas such as Heilongjiang Province and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China were able to enjoy gorgeous views of the aurora.

Tianzhou-6 cargoship successfully docks with space station
After a successful liftoff, the Tianzhou-6 cargoship docked with China Space Station's Tianhe core module, bringing 280 days' worth of daily supplies for three taikonauts.
Cargo weighing 58,000 kilograms was on-board, including refueling propellants and multiple scientific payloads.
It was the first spaceflight since China Space Station entered the new, long-term 'application and development' phase that will run for at least a decade.
Kunming sees economic purple patch
The imported jacaranda flower has helped give the city of Kunming a welcome economic boost over the May holiday. The capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province, Kunming grows more than 10 billion fresh flowers for sale annually.
The beautiful purple flower was imported to the city from South America in the 1980s and has thrived ever since.
Tourist officials say 600,000 visitors came to Kunming over the five-day public holiday, double the number last year, boosting the local economy by 3 million yuan ($430,000 USD).

Pandas caught on candid camera
A growing number of wild giant pandas have been caught on infrared cameras at the Changqing National Nature Reserve in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, signaling an improving ecological environment in the region.
Recently nature reserve staff found that five of the nine cameras they placed in the reserve had captured photographs and video footage of the black-and-white animals since the beginning of this year.

Shandong's winter wheat yield shows substantial increase
Winter wheat yields in Shandong Province have grown despite recent temperature fluctuations, increasing precipitation and frequent disease outbreaks.
Local farmer Zhang Gaosheng told CGTN the region's yield over its four million hectares of farmland was expected to be 10 percent higher than last year.
The use of local agricultural technicians to guide farmers through scientific field management is credited, helping to ensure an abundant summer harvest for locals.
