A sea of red balloons floated above the rubble of demolished buildings in Hatay, Türkiye, on Sunday in memory of every child who died in the recent earthquake.
A group of volunteers led by Ogun Sever Okur, the photographer who initiated the project, climbed up the debris and attached balloons to the metal wires sticking out from the pile of remains of the buildings.
The "My last present to children" project aims to cover the rubble across the whole city with the red balloons.

"Every time we tie a balloon, my heart hurts," Okur said. "We have tied 1,000 to 1,500 balloons so far, but we will hopefully continue until we reach all parts of the city, until we reach every home of the children who lost their lives."
Rescue efforts in earthquake-hit Türkiye wound down on Sunday, nearly two weeks after the country's deadliest modern disaster struck, with many praying to recover the bodies of their loved ones.
More than 46,000 people have been killed in the quake in Türkiye and Syria. The toll is expected to soar, with some 345,000 apartments in Türkiye now known to have been destroyed, and many still missing.
