This year's Spring Festival is well under way in Chinese speaking communities across the world.
The celebration dates back around 3,500 years to the Shang Dynasty. In those days, people held sacrificial ceremonies to honor the gods and their ancestors at the advent of the New Year.
Nowadays, the festival is far more peaceful, featuring beautiful light shoes, songs and poems that define the human experience.
