The James Webb Telescope is rewriting our understanding of the cosmos: RAZOR

Updated 2022.10.23 19:21 GMT+8
Emma Keeling

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the most powerful and complex telescope ever launched into space, fundamentally altering our understanding of the universe.

The JWST is NASA's successor to the Hubble Space Telescope. Its infrared cameras and larger mirror allow it to peer deeper into the early universe and capture data on the formation of the first stars and galaxies. Emma Keeling talks to Garth Illingworth, a distinguished professor emeritus of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of California who was involved in the development of The James Webb Telescope, to find out more about the first images sent back from the telescope since its successful launch.
