Extinction Rebellion (XR) climate activists have glued themselves to the Speaker's Chair inside the House of Commons chamber in the UK Parliament.
Once inside parliament the activists made demands for a Citizens' Assembly, stating, "We are in crisis. We can not afford to carry on like this..."
The group also dropped banners across Westminster Palace, including the main building.

The protesters urged the need "to cut through the corruption in Westminster, update politics & let the people decide."
A Citizens' Assembly on climate change would mean the public be given the right to debate and reach conclusions as to what they believe should be done the ecological assembly.
