Gu Ailing, who won Team China's first women's freestyle skiing big air gold medal at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, said it's her critics' loss if they don't like her.
"Here's the thing," Gu said, "I'm not trying to keep anyone happy. I'm an 18-year-old girl out here living my best life. I'm having a great time."
China to further stabilize coal prices
China will continue to keep coal prices stable, the country's top economic planner and energy department have said.
The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration met, after which warnings were issued to companies that charged exorbitant prices. Coal producers were also told to step up efforts to ensure supplies.

The central axis of Beijing, which is connected by many cultural relics in the old city, is now in the "sprint stage" of applying for World Heritage status, according to Shan Jixiang, the president of China Antique Academy and former director of the Palace Museum.
There are three World Heritage sites along the central axis: the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Jinghang Grand Canal.
"There are also many other cultural relics, historical sites, and cultural landscapes on the central axis, so the overall application of the central axis as a World Heritage Site meets the requirements of authenticity and integrity," Shan said.

China plans more than 50 space launches in 2022
China's primary space contractor plans to carry out more than 50 space launches in 2022, sending over 140 spacecraft into space.
"The year 2022 will see China's projects in space at the top of its game," said Ma Tao, the deputy chief of the space department at China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
There were 146 space launches in 2021, the highest number since 1957. Fifty-five were carried out by China in the past year, surpassing all other nations.

Giant panda stuck in Belgium
Tian Bao, the first giant panda born in Belgium, has had a trip to China delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
He will continue to stay at the Pairi Daiza zoo in Belgium for the rest of 2022, according to a news release published on the zoo's website on February 4.
Giant pandas born outside China travel back to the country when they reach four years old, according to the panda loan convention, to safeguard the panda and conserve the species.

China box office record broken
China's total box office sales (including pre-sales) for 2022 officially broke the 10 billion yuan ($1.57 billion) mark on February 9. It took only 40 days to accomplish this feat, the fastest in Chinese film history.
The boost was primarily driven by the war epic, "The Battle at Lake Changjin II," that raked in over 2.9 billion yuan (about $455 million) as of Wednesday.
China to empower modern financial system by 2025
China's financial regulators issued a plan to advance standardization of the financial sector over the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), aiming to establish a financial-standard system by 2025.
The authorities plan to improve standardization in various areas, including supervision, risk prevention, financial technology, green finance, and digital currency.

China's ace short-track speed skater Ren Ziwei clinched his first individual Olympic gold medal in the men's 1000m in one minute and 26.768 seconds at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
"The short-track speed skating team will never let people down. That is a tradition. We will try our best for future Games," Ren said.
