For eight years now, the UK's Royal Mint has been making commemorative coins to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.
This year an 8 kg gold coin is added to the collection to mark the year of tiger.

Stephanie Morris, head of commemorative coin sales at the Royal Mint said: "We were inspired by the Chinese culture that number eight is one of the luckiest numbers."
"We also knew that the number eight was linked to wealth and prosperity. So given that it's an eight kilogram gold coin, it's a piece of art," she told CGTN.
This gold coin is a perfect combination of British coin-making craftsmanship that's steeped in history - the Royal Mint alone has been minting British coins for over 1000 years. Hundreds of hours has gone into the making of the coin, including more than 100 hours of handwork by the Royal Mint's Master Toolmakers, who hand-polished the coin to make sure the design is smooth and elevated.
David Lawrance, the designer of the tiger coin, worked closely with the Chinese community in the UK to make sure the image of the tiger will be in line with Chinese tradition.
In the final design, the tiger's forehead features a pattern which is said to be the inspiration for the Chinese character for King (王, pronounced as 'Wang').

The Royal Mint expects their 8 kg gold disc will fetch 6 figures from potential buyers.
But for those who can't afford that amount, different editions in the series are available.
