In November, tens of thousands of delegates, from world leaders to activists, gathered in Glasgow for the pandemic-delayed COP 26 climate summit.
Discussions were held and decisions made – but now the dust has settled and everyone has returned home to put the ideas into practice. This week on The Agenda with Stephen Cole we try to gauge the real legacy of COP26. Was enough done to save the planet? Or will the talks go down as little more than a missed opportunity.
Cole speaks to Dan Jørgensen, Denmark's Minister for Climate, Energy & Public Utilities – who attended COP26 as the co-chair of the Beyond Oil & Gas Alliance – a new group designed to wean the world off fossil fuels. He tells us why he hopes the rest of the world can follow Denmark's lead in the months after the gathering in Glasgow.
