How does COVID-19 replicate itself?


At this stage of the pandemic, we all know that for SARS-CoV2 to replicate, it needs us. In fact, like all viruses, it hijacks a key part of our cells – known as ribosomes – to make the proteins needed to copy itself. 

CGTN Europe's Neil Cairns talks to Nenad Ban and his team from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology to find out more about the mechanisms SARS-CoV-2 uses to hijack our ribosomes.
