The Link might sound like a bank, or an internet cafe, but it's set to be France's new tallest office building.

Topping out at 242 meters, the new headquarters of French oil giant TotalEnergies won't quite reach the height of the Eiffel Tower, but it will tower over surrounding skyscrapers in La Defense, the modern, business-focused end of France's capital Paris.

But despite designer Philippe Chiambaretta choosing steel and glass for the structure, it will also have a greener, environmental edge. Each floor will feature a garden space, as well as informal lounges.

"Everyone can go out all day long without having to go down 50 floors," Chiambaretta explained of the building, expected to be finished in 2025.
