GB sprinter Chijindu Ujah is among four athletes suspended for allegedly breaching anti-doping rules at the Tokyo Olympics, the Athletics Integrity Unit has announced.

The other three athletes suspended are Moroccan 1,500 meters runner Sadik Mikhou, Georgian shot putter Benik Abramyan and Kenyan sprinter Mark Otieno Odhiambo.

Ujah was part of the silver medal-winning British team in the men's 4x100 meters relay.

The Athletics Integrity Unit said it "now awaits the conclusion of the ITA [International Testing Agency] proceedings against the above athletes, which will determine whether any anti-doping rule violations have been committed and what consequences (if any) should be imposed in relation to the Olympic Games."

A provisional suspension is when an athlete is suspended temporarily from participating in any competition or activity in athletics until there "is a final decision at a hearing conducted under the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules or the Integrity Code of Conduct."

If a violation of the doping rules was confirmed, it would be expected that Team GB would lose the silver medals, with fourth-placed China set to move up a place to take bronze.
