The inventive incentives offered to persuade people to get vaccinated

Vaccines are hailed as the key to beating the COVID-19 pandemic. But some countries are facing a frustrating problem – not everyone wants the jab.

So some governments have decided to offer incentives to encourage people.

Watch the video above to see a selection of them – from Greece, where young people can get a $180 prepaid card to spend on leisure activities, to Moscow, where people getting vaccinated are entered in a raffle to win a car.

Slovakia has a weekly lottery with a prize of up to $2.3 million to convince people to get the jab and there are extra bonus prizes of between $35 and $106 if a person convinces someone else to get vaccinated.
