We all love unboxing our latest purchases delivered by the courier. But how do you do it in space?

Astronauts - or taikonauts -  on China's space station have seven tons of supplies in 160 special boxes to unpack and have some clever technology to help keep things in order.

3. A billion vaccines administered

More than 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered across China as of last Saturday, the National Health Commission (NHC) said.

China has accelerated its pace of free COVID-19 vaccinations for the whole nation since late March. The country hit the landmark figure of 100 million vaccinations on March 27.

4. A tale of a forest ranger

Chen Zeping and his family lived in what had been one of the poorest villages in east China's Anhui province. Now they've moved into two-storey houses with electricity, tap water and flushable toilets.

He's committed himself to his community: Besides farming work, he also got a new job as a local forest ranger. Watch the video to see his story.

5. The man playing Mao on stage

Wang Ban has been an actor for about three decades, and is currently playing one of the most challenging, yet meaningful characters of his career: Chairman Mao Zedong.

Wang has gone the extra mile to get into character, even gaining 6.8 kilograms. Reflecting on his career, Wang said he hopes to bring a little faith to the audience through each play.

"There's a thousand Hamlets in the mind of a thousand viewers, but only one Chairman Mao in the hearts of the audience. It's different. Don't forget this is an artistic figure on stage, but also a political figure," Wang said.

6. Winter Olympics preparations

All 12 competition venues for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics are currently getting their latest improvements . The games are set to begin next February.

In late May, the organizing committee said all the venues have met the highest possible standards for eco-friendly buildings in China.

They will run on clean energy, supplied by newly built green power stations, the first time the Olympics will be powered entirely by renewable energy.

7. China's bumper summer grain harvest

China reaped another bumper summer harvest in 2021, the country's agriculture minister has said.

That laid a solid foundation for ensuring that the total grain output this year would remain above 650 billion kilograms, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Tang Renjian said during an inspection tour in the city of Sanhe, north China's Hebei Province.

Despite unfavorable weather conditions, pests and diseases, China's summer grain output reached an all-time high, Tang said.

8. 106th Joint Mekong river patrol

Law enforcement officers from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand joined forces Tuesday for the 106th Mekong River joint patrol.

Officers from the four countries plan to navigate over 600 kilometers of the river over four days and three nights to strengthen patrols of pivotal waters and clamp down on drug trafficking and other cross-border crime in the region.

A joint anti-drug publicity campaign was also launched Tuesday, ahead of this year's International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which falls on June 26.

9. Bitcoin drops after China crypto crackdown

Bitcoin dropped under $30,000 for the first time in five months after a crackdown from China's central bank on cryptocurrency.

The dip started as soon as China's central bank said on Monday it had recently summoned banks and payment institutions, including top state-owned banks and Alibaba-backed Alipay, to order harder crackdowns on cryptocurrency trading.

10. How China's high speed train network works

In 2008, China rolled out its first high-speed railway at a speed of 350-kilometers per hour and it's seen a high-speed railway boom over the past decade. 

Independent development has been the key to shaking off reliance on foreign technology, paving the way for its roll out strategy.
