Nearly 200 firefighters and 17 planes are tackling a wildfire in Greece, near a protected wildlife habitat and popular holiday destination.
Six villages and two monasteries have been evacuated as efforts continue to put out the blaze, which broke out on Wednesday evening.
The fire is 90km west of Athens, close to the village of Skinos on the Gulf of Corinth.
No injuries have been reported, but electricity has been knocked out in the surrounding area and is not expected to come back for at least 48 hours. Smoke from the fire can be seen in Athens.
Wildfires are common in Greece, especially during the summer, because of the high temperatures and strong winds. In 2018, a fire killed 102 people after it broke out in the coastal area close to Athens
