The animals at London Zoo got a rare chance to play in the snow on Sunday after a flurry hit the UK capital.

The zoo's Western Lowland gorillas, penguin colony and otters, some of which saw snow for the first time in their lives, were all seen having fun,

Nicky the pygmy hippo was less certain however. Having poked her head out to see what all the commotion was about, she decided to return to her warm indoor hot tub.

Unfortunately there were no visitors in attendance to enjoy the moment with the animals amid a nationwide lockdown which forced all of the country's zoos to close.

But the hope is that they will soon be able to reopen again to enable animals and people to have fun together in the sun, rain or even snow.
