The main thing the world wishes to see from science in 2021 is the end of COVID-19.
In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) dominated headlines as it led the global effort to tackle the pandemic. Now in charge of the global response and bringing the world back to a new normal, the WHO has never been more vital to the future of our planet.
Finding out what's next for the pandemic and healthcare in 2021, The Agenda's Stephen Cole spoke to the WHO's spokeswoman, Margaret Harris.

"We're expecting that all that we've learned from the science…working together, achieving solidarity, will bring us the tools to stand up, fight and beat this virus in 2021… we will see the end of this pandemic," she said.
However, despite the optimism, she remains concerned about how the pandemic has shifted focus away from other important medical requirements: "That's been a big concern... people were frightened. They weren't attending all the routine care for things like blood pressure, diabetes – those problems kill many, many people… we need to do much, much more."
