Is news "A Disease For The Brain"? Meet the man who says it is

Updated 2020.10.24 22:49 GMT+8

The Agenda's Stephen Cole is joined by the man who has been avoiding news for a decade.

Rolf Dobelli, founder of WORLD.MINDS and author of books including 'Stop Reading the News' and million-copy best-selling book 'The Art of Thinking Clearly'  believes that news consumption is "a disease for the brain". He explains why he's been avoiding news for a decade.

"10 years ago after reading hundreds of thousands of news pieces I asked myself two simple questions: do I now make better decisions for my life – personal life or business life – and I had to say no, I don't. The second question I asked myself was do I understand the world better now? I also had to say no to that.

"So 10 years ago I decided to go completely without news – no newspapers, no online news, no television, no radio – and it's been a very rewarding journey for me.

"I've saved a lot of time…I have more concentration…and have less anxiety."
