Riot Games' 'League of Legends' is China's third most popular professional sport after basketball and soccer. If it hadn't been for the pandemic, 50,000 people would be descending on Shanghai for the 2020 world championship in November. But what now?

On this week's The Agenda with Stephen Cole, head of Riot Games for China Leo Lin gives his take on the future of eSports and why 'League of Legends' will never lose sight of what players want.

"I think it's a new lifestyle and fashion," he says, "especially eSports – that has become a popular format for young people to enjoy their lives."

He said that the pandemic had provided many challenges but had also provided an opportunity for eSports "to step up and show how popular they can be."
