The dog's-eye view of a regal room in the Hofburg presidential palace in Vienna greeted social media followers of the Austrian President Alexander Van Der Bellen on Sunday. After a second or two it became clear the federal leader's best friend Juli was wearing a camera - and had just spotted her patron come back from an official engagement.

As she ran down the halls of power, towards the President who greeted her with a treat, viewers got an innovative view of the country's leader.

The former economics professor, who came to power in 2017 with the backing of the Green Party, was celebrating World Animal Day, saying: "In a world without animal welfare, there would be a lot of losers - and only a few winners."

To thank the "many private individuals as well as organizations - for their tireless efforts in favor of the animals… some views of the Hofburg from Juli's perspective."

Whether it's normal for Juli to enjoy such free reign of the grand residence is unclear, but she certainly seemed to enjoy World Animal Day 2020.
