To mark the recent International Cat Day here's a look at the life of Larry, Downing Street's very own cat-in-residence. He's lived at 10 Downing Street, the UK Prime Minister's residence, since 2011 and holds the title of Chief Mouser of the Cabinet Office – the fourth feline to fill the role.

The brown-and-white tabby has served under three UK leaders – David Cameron, Theresa May, and currently, Boris Johnson – and has been a regular fixture at top-level diplomatic meetings.

Australian photographer Justin Ng has become known for sharing pictures of Larry on social media, but the cat is an influencer in his own right: he has a strong social media presence, with more than 392,100 followers on Twitter alone.

And if Johnson's Twitter feed is anything to go by – the prime minister was quick to post a photo of himself with the famed feline following his election – Larry appears to have successfully clawed his way into the latest UK administration.
