There has been a surge in people volunteering during the pandemic. In the UK, for example, it's on a scale not seen since World War II.
Nearly a million people have offered their time and skills to support the National Health Service. Clinical engineers are often thought of as "backroom types." But during the crisis, many have found themselves on the front line of the fight against COVID-19.
In total, 1,084 volunteer engineers were recruited to help set up and support the Nightingale Hospitals, which were created at short notice in large existing arenas and venues. They were also crucial in helping long-established hospitals across the UK adapt quickly for the influx of coronavirus patients.
RAZOR's Shini Somara spoke to Becky Kay, who was one of those volunteers.
